1880 Union Hotel Wedding Video in Los Alamos - Sarah & Dustin - Fun Couple!
Overview of The 1880 Union Hotel Wedding in Los Alamos, California
This video captures some fun wedding highlights at the 1880 Union Hotel in Los Alamos for Sarah & Dustin | February 15, 2020
On February 15, 2020, I was in charge of their ceremony, cocktail, and reception. The ceremony took place on the side of the hotel, the cocktail hour inside, and the reception behind the building.
We had about 200 guests who came from Los Angeles, New York, Portland, Hawaii, Utah, Philippines, Canada, and Colorado, and the venue was large enough to accommodate all of us.
The Wedding Ceremony at 1880 Union Hotel
For the ceremony, I worked with their friend, Jenny, who played the flute. Besides just setting up sound and microphones for the ceremony, I also help out with any special performances by any musicians. I also work with the videographer who may want to connect to my audio. We also had a surprise at the end of the ceremony. The bride wanted me to surprise the groom with "Love On Top" by Beyonce as the wedding recessional. The groom thought it was a different song, but the bride reached out to me privately and played "Love On Top" instead. Great reaction from Dustin, the groom, and the guests as it fits their fun personalities.
The Cocktail Hour at 1880 Union Hotel
For the cocktail hour, guests enjoyed music and drinks inside the venue. It's nicely decorated inside with a unique personality that displays 1880 Union Hotel's history and style.
The Wedding Reception Setup at 1880 Union Hotel
For the reception, it took place outdoors behind the venue. One of the things my clients ordered from me is my monogram service. I used my projector to display a digitally animated monogram on the dance floor. I got my design from http://www.projectorgram.com who did an amazing job with it and quality service. Memorable Wedding Moments at 1880 Union Hotel
One memorable moment was that the bride's father, also known as the "Filipino Sinatra", sang "Strangers in the Night" for Sarah & Dustin's First Dance. I had him use my iPad to pull up the YouTube Karaoke version of it with the lyrics. Another memorable moment was that for the bouquet and garter toss, they went to the venue's balcony and threw them at the same time. This was a great shot and view for the photographer and videographer to take. It hyped up everybody down below and was a unique spin to the bouquet and garter toss. Also, we had a mock grand exit around 8:55pm which we had people do a soul train line on the dance floor and people showed their best dance moves as they make their way down the middle. Super fun!
Wedding Conclusion
Overall, this was a great wedding for Sarah and Dustin. Shout out to all of the vendors who I worked with that day to make it all happen. Congrats, Sarah & Dustin, and thank you for having me as your DJ!
