In this video, I share with you some fun highlights, venue layout, and my gear setup for Bobby & Katrina's wedding at Botanica in San Diego!
We first kicked things off with the ceremony by the waterfall.

For the cocktail hour, we had it on the lower lawn and covered that area with my Bose S1 speaker. I was able to transmit my sound wirelessly from my main DJ booth to the Bose S1 speaker using my Shure PSM900 transmitter and Shure P9RA receiver.

After the cocktail hour, we transitioned to the main reception on the upper lawn. For sound, I used 1 RCF EVOX 8 speaker for the upper lawn to cover the dinner area and 1 RCF EVOX 8 speaker on the lower patio area for dancing. I positioned my main DJ booth between the dinner and dancing areas so I can see both areas and easily reposition my DJ booth to face the dance floor when it's time for dancing. I used my RCF EVOX 8 speakers not only for the amazing sound quality, but also for the wide sound coverage it has.

One of the fun and memorable moments that night was during the Mother & Son dance, the groom had a surprise for his mom and he did magic card trick with her then proceeded to dance.
Another fun moment was during the garter removal. I started playing “WAP” by Cardi B and things got spiiicy. Then right before the song gets too spiiiicy, I switched over to “Let’s Get It On” by Marvin Gaye, and our groom, Bobby, did his thang haha. This was a planned skit planned by the Groom, and him and I were on it.
There was also a spontaneous moment when we were waiting for something to happen on the dance floor, and I overheard the groom saying something about “DDR”. Instead of waiting, I took advantage of the moment. Being observant and hearing “DDR”, I threw in an upbeat 90s techno song and the groom started doing some DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) gaming moves on the dance floor and then a dance party with everyone emerged! Everyone was having a blast as I took them back to those fun times! I played about 2-3 songs then transitioned to what we were supposed to do originally. This was a beautiful moment because it shows how important it is for the DJ to listen, observe, and adapt to make what would’ve been a dull moment, into something fun! Know how to improvise!
Overall, this was a great wedding and so happy for Bobby & Katrina and with how everything turned out. Congratulations to our happy couple! Thank you for having me as your DJ!
