October 4, 2019 This video captures fun highlights from Christine & Sean's wedding at the Riviera Mansion in Santa Barbara, California. I cover my setup, the venue, and fun dance highlights.
Riviera Mansion https://www.rivieramansionwedding.com/ It was super important to understand the venue layout so I know how to properly provide sound and music to have a smooth experience for the guests.
In this video, I explain the equipment and gear I used to cover the cocktail, dinner reception, and the dance floor which are all in different areas of the venue.
For the cocktail hour, we had a mariachi band play and when they're finished, I played some music on my Bose S1 speaker. For the dinner reception, I loved the energy from the crowd. Everyone was enjoying the dinner reception setting. The lighting and small space made it such an intimate but yet fun vibe throughout dinner. I also mixed a variety of music during this time.
When it was time for dancing, I invited everybody inside to continue the festivities. To make it a smooth transition from one area to the next, I already had my main setup ready to go. Thanks to my assistant at the time, Soham.
It was great to have the dancing indoors so we won't have the surrounding neighbors call the cops on us for being too loud. I played a variety of music and loved Christine and Sean's music selection. Due to copyright issues, unfortunately, I didn't include them in the video. We took it back to 80s, played some 90s, 00s, and played some of the bride's requests of Too Short.
Overall, this was a fun wedding. I wish I can DJ more Santa Barbara weddings as they add a touch of class, while still being relaxed and fun.
