Event Overview

On March 1, 2020, I had the pleasure to DJ for Stella & Jacob's wedding at the Sherwood Country Club in Lake Sherwood, California. This video captures my setup for their ceremony, cocktail and reception, and I share with you some fun highlights from their wedding day.

Wedding Ceremony

Their ceremony took place at the venue's beautiful outdoor patio. It's great because you get a nice view of the landscape behind as we were up at an elevated area. For my setup, I used my RCF EVOX 8 speaker to cover the sound and used my Shure QLXD24/SM58 for the officiant to use.

Cocktail Hour

For the cocktail hour, they hired a piano man to serenade their guests as they enjoy drinks and appetizers. Also, during this time, we had Stella & Jacob practice their choreographed first dance inside while no one is around. I suggested this to them because it gave them to not only practice their first dance but also they got footage of them dancing together alone. Later, during their actual first dance, we had their close friends and family around the dance floor. By doing so, the videographers were able to capture 2 kinds of shots, with people in the background and one with the venue in the background.

Wedding Reception

For the reception setup, I brought my projector to display their monogram design on the wall, another projector and screen to play their video presentation, my uplights to set a nice ambiance around the room, and used my friend's DB Technologies 1203 speakers for sound. I used Projectorgram.com to get my monogram design and they have excellent customer service. They delivered the design in different sizes so I'll have flexibility with how it looks depending on the distance from the projector to the wall.

Conclusion

One of the things I enjoyed was mixing their music style and playlist. They love hip hop and EDM, so we brought Tomorrowland to Lake Sherwood :P This video captures some of the fun music and some happy hardcore songs played that night.
