DJed and hosted a 450 people wedding and NYE party at the Hyatt Regency Westlake Village! This video captures highlights throughout the event, sample DJ mix transitions, hype calls, and a live testimonial from the bride and groom.
On December 31, 2017, I had double honor DJing Anna & Andy's wedding and hosting the New Year's Eve celebration for 450 people! Such a fun Indian/Latino/American crowd!
It was an action-packed event. I was in charge of the sound, lighting, music, and entertainment that day.
To kick things off, we started with the Baraat around 9AM which had a second line band jumpstarting everyone's morning. Then they led everybody inside for the Hindu wedding ceremony.
After the morning ceremony, guests had lunch outside on the back lawn of the hotel and had a few hours break before the evening's festivities begin again later that day.
Around 5pm we had the cocktail hour which I played some music for the guests. At 6pm, we opened the doors to let people inside the reception room. Instead of the guests taking their seats, we started a 1-hour dance party in preparation for the bride and groom's entrance. This set the tone and energy of the night and left the people in a party mood throughout the evening.
We had some formalities such as the grand entrance, first dance, parent dances, and speeches. We also had a special performance by a Capoeira band and the bride and groom danced! We even had a surprise flash mob which many people were involved in.
We continued to dance the night away and as we got closer to midnight, I led the 450 people for the countdown. I played a special NYE edit from Clubkillers.com to play at the 1-minute mark. When the clock stroke midnight, I then played Mariah Carey's "Auld Lang Syne". It was such an epic time!
Afterward, we kept it that party vibe and I cranked up the energy a notch for all the late party people who were still with me. I played some good club bangers and a mixture of some Bollywood music, as well.
Everybody had a fantastic time that night and at the end of it, I even received a live testimonial from Anna & Andy sharing their experience.
