This video captures highlights of a destination wedding I DJed at Pine Hills Lodge in Julian, CA
On January 13, 2018, I traveled down to Julian, CA to DJ Alexis and Jianina's wedding in Pine Hills Lodge. It was an intimate wedding mostly comprising of their family and close friends.
Fun history fact: Professional boxer, Jack Dempsey, used to train at the lodge when he built a gym there.
That evening I was in charge of their ceremony and reception. Originally, we were supposed to have the ceremony outdoors, but due to recent weather in the area, we kept it indoors.
For the ceremony, I provided a simple QSC K8.2 speaker setup with a Shure GLXD24/SM58 Mic for the officiant.
For the cocktail hour, everyone went to the lodge's bar area for drinks and appetizers while Jianina and Alexis took pictures. The venue provided music for the cocktail hour using my iPad.
The dinner reception was in the room next over. It was beautifully decorated and I set up my uplights for the extra touch. I used my wireless Ape Labs Maxi with shield covers which were perfect because I didn't have to worry about cables and finding power outlets in the room. I set the color to amber and they added a nice warmth to the lodge/cabin feel of the room.
Once we had everybody seated in the reception area, we continued with the grand entrance, first dance, parent dances, toasts, cake cutting, money dance, and ended it with open dancing.
Everybody had a great time and I'm glad I got to make it a fun and memorable experience for Jianina and Alexis.
