On July 27, 2019, I had the pleasure to DJ Katie & Robby's wedding at the York Manor in Los Angeles, California.
They've chosen a beautiful wedding venue to get married. Although the venue was located in a busy urban setting, once you enter the place, you're transformed into a serene environment.
Their ceremony was held at the back of the building and although it was a warm day, the venue provided some shade for the guests as they took their seats. The acoustics of this outdoor space was amazing. I only used 1 QSC K8 speaker and 1 wireless microphone and the audio was heard loud and clear. At the end of the ceremony, they had a bubble exit with their guests blow bubbles at the couple as Katie and Robby walk back up the aisle.
Shortly right after, we had the cocktail hour which was held outside and I played some good background music as guests enjoy drinks and appetizers.
Inside, we had the reception where it was nice and cool. Due to the limited amount of space in the venue, I was set up on the stage behind the sweetheart table. I'm glad I brought my white facade to put in front of my DJ table to blend in with the white wall background. To make the stage even more fun, I set up my Ape Labs Maxi uplights to make it colorful and pulse to the music when it was time to dance.
As for the program goes, we had a fun grand entrance and their First Dance. For their First Dance, I made a custom mix for them blending some jams to surprise their guests. We also had some fun games which their bridesmaids and groomsmen hosted. For dancing, I mainly played some 90s & 00s hip hop which got the crowd going. Then later, they had a taco guy outside serving some delicious tacos. At the end of the night, the B&G and some of their guests enjoyed the after-party at the tavern below the York Manor venue.
Overall, this was a fun and intimate wedding with their close friends and loved ones. I had a great time being their DJ and MC making unforgettable memories with the people close them. Venue:
